Final Summary

This is a brief summary for my final story that I am writing for the class.

A boy lives alone in a garden. He lives in a remote area. There is a tree for him to sleep under, a huge pond for him to fish. He can travel for miles in every direction, but is always met by a brier wall that he can not breech. The boy doesn't know that he is in a garden. He thinks that he is the only person left alive.
The boy spends his days gathering food for himself and his companion as well as playing.
One day he hears shrill screams coming from nearby and so he takes off running in their direction. When the boy gets to where the screams are coming from he finds a little girl his age who has run through the briers. She is losing a lot of blood. He also hears men on the other side calling off their chase for her.
After the girl collapses, the boy takes her back to where he lives and begins to take care of her.
The two become friends and they play for days and days together. Finally one night under stars and fireflies, the girl tells the boy that he must be the lost prince that everyone thought was dead. She informs him that there is an outside world, and that she must return to the real world. The boy doesn't understand but decides to travel with the girl anyway.
When they get to the "real world," there are soldiers fighting everywhere. War has overtaken most of the kingdom, and left it in ruins. The boy is so horrified that he runs back to his garden.
The girl then goes to check on him, and tells him that she can't stay in the garden forever, that there are things in the outside world that she needs. The boy looks scared as he stands at the exit of the garden, taking one last look, before he leaves for good.
